The Kindergarten ProgramThe kindergarten program is structured with the academic learning skills. The child is approximately four and a half to five years of age. The children are offered a wide variety of activities in language skills, arithmetic, geography, botany, group activities as well as individual one-on-one, and creative art. Unlike a traditional kindergarten, the Montessori Kindergarten provides an early enthusiasm for learning and is the key to the child becoming a truly educated person. The parents should understand that a Montessori school is neither a babysitting service nor a play school that prepares a child for traditional kindergarten. It is a special cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child's sensitive years between three and six. At this time, the child is able to absorb information from an enriched environment. The entire program of learning is purposefully structured with the child in mind. For information regarding our Kindergarten program, please contact Diana L. Runge, President/Executive Director. |
